THE BIG FOUR

INTRODUCTION

This booklet is written for followers of Jesus Christ who have a basic understanding of the Bible. Please read the entire booklet with an open mind and with expectations of miracles in your spiritual walk and day to day life.

This booklet is a crash course for breakthrough in the four most prevalent areas that hold back and stifle the spiritual growth process of Christians. UNFORGIVENESS, GENERATIONAL CURSES, INNER VOWS AND JUDGMENTS, AND UNGODLY SOUL TIES – referred to as THE BIG FOUR. This booklet is not an exhaustive teaching but is sufficient for a basic understanding and to get the process of spiritual breakthrough in motion by earnestly declaring the prayers that follow each section.

Discipleship is the gift that keeps on giving! We all need to be discipled by someone who cares about us and is willing to invest in us. The early church was all about discipleship and small groups. Jesus showed us that this is paramount in growing big people. The enemy knows our hurts, weaknesses and triggering mechanisms and will use them against us to the extent of our damage. Go through this booklet with a small group of believers in Jesus Christ and get involved in a Church that has a discipleship ministry.

Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:12b&13.
There is a difference between the salvation of our spirit and the salvation of our soul. The salvation of our spirit is a one time event. The salvation of our souls is a continual process.

Before we dive in lets look at three basic concepts going forward. Outlined on the following pages in bold print.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. Jesus has an abundant life for us, but if we are ignorant (Hosea 4:6) we may never realize it, constantly asking ourselves these questions;

First we need to face a few realities….

1- We live in the worldly kingdom ran by satan.

1 John 5:19, We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
2 Corinthians 4:4, The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Satan is the ruler of the airwaves. Ephesians 2:2 “in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient”.

2- We are to overcome by fully realizing the Kingdom of God NOW to rule in authority over the kingdom of satan until we see Jesus.

§  The Kingdom of God.
(answer to Pilate) John 18:36, Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
Romans 4:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Mathew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Mathew 12:28 (Jesus speaking) But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
§  Satan is defeated but remains active:
1 John 3:8, 8 The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
§  Every believer has authority over satan.
Mathew 10:19 (speaking to the 72) I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Mark 16:16-19 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
John 14:12 (Jesus speaking) I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

3- Our life now, is practice for eternity. If we have a problem with any of these now, we’ve got some work to do.
  • Constantly Worshiping God.
  • Constantly Talking with God.
  • Existing from the source of love and life - God.
  • Constantly Learning from God.

What is holding us back?
1)    Overall areas of life (soul = life) we need to overcome through transformation by the power of the Holy Spirit. (this is the purpose of spiritual workshops and much more)
a)     Distorted image of God. Limits the unlimited God.
b)    Our own distorted identity –Self Image – how we see our self. Who we are in Christ according to what God says- not what we think or feel we are.
c)     Influence from satan.
§  Visual – perversions of God’s creations.
§  Airwaves & Mind: lies – accuser of the brethren, confusion from world view - keeping God’s blessings from flowing.
§  Demonic attack to our souls: trauma, emotional and physical wounds in our vulnerable years, gaining territory in our souls.
d)    Fear of death. Worldly perspective to resurrection spirit. Transfer from worldly kingdom to God’s kingdom. How can we do heavenly work when our head is stuck in the limitations of worldly views.
What are worldly views?
§  We exist because of some freak happenstance.
§  Our life has no worth or value because we came from goop.
§  Maybe we will be re-incarnated when we die.
§  We are all going to die, so look out for number one.
§  Spiritualism is good/ok as long as its fortune telling, TV shows about witches, contacting the dead, exorcism movies, wegee boards, taro cards etc, etc.
§  Be tolerant of everyone except those that are intolerant – that is a hate crime
What are Jesus’ views?
§  God created the heavens and earth. God created each and every one of us, uniquely and wonderfully made.
§  Our life is worth the blood Jesus.
§  We are spirit beings and will live forever because God is eternal.
§  We are all going to die, so make your life count for God and others.
§  The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, God created Spiritual goodness by giving believers the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Satan has corrupted and perverted these abilities to serve himself through non-believers.
§  God cannot tolerate sin, neither should we. God loves the sinner, so should we.

2)    What really matters? Practice the awareness of God’s indwelling Spirit in everyday life.
a.     Mark 12:29-31 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, hear, O Israel! the Lord our god is one lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' "the second is this, 'you shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
b.     Know the Word of God – The Bible is the written Jesus. Know the author of the Bible – The Holy Spirit.
c.     Intimate relationship with God. Effective Prayer life.

3)    Reason to say the following prayers out loud.
§  God watches over His word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12 Then the LORD said to me, "You have seen well, for I am watching over My word to perform it."
§  Angels listen for the spoken word of God. Psalms 103:20, Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!
§  Satan can’t read our minds.
§  We need to rebuke and cancel any legal permission satan has on us by speaking the word of God out loud.
§  Internalize who we are in Christ by speaking and hearing the word of God.

4)    Practice pronouncing out loud – read out loud the following “who we are in Christ” page below.

SPIRIT-SOUL-BODY how God built us

Why do we need to know this?
The worldly view is distorted. Tend to use Spirit and Soul interchangeably.
Soul food, Soul music, Kindred spirit, Team spirit, I owe my soul to the company store.
Worldly view is that we consist of two parts – [body] and [soul/spirit].

We need to know and understand the Biblical view. There are three unique parts to our being.
SPIRIT, SOUL, BODY. I Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Threes theme:
Holy Trinity: God the Father – God the Son – God the Holy Spirit.
Humans: Spirit – Soul – Body.
Temple: Outer Court – Inner Court – Holy of Holies.
Atom: Electron – Neutron – Proton.

    Diagram 1:                                                                        Diagram 2:

SPIRIT: (functions of the Spirit)
Conscience: Distinguishes right and wrong, spontaneous direct judgment. Conscience judges according to intuition.
Intuition: A direct sensing independent of any outside influence. We know that we know. God is known by man intuitively and reveals His will to man in the intuition.
Communion: Worshiping God. God is not apprehended by our thoughts, feelings or intentions. He can only be known directly in our spirits.

SOUL: (That which constitutes man's personality are three main faculties)
Will: Volition is the instrument for our decisions, revealing our power to choose. It expresses our willingness or unwillingness: "we will" or "we won't."
Mind: The instrument for our thoughts, manifests our intellectual power.
Emotions: The instrument for our likes and dislikes is the faculty of emotion. Through it we are able to express love or hate and to feel joyful, angry, sad or happy.

BODY:
Flesh: That part of the body through which we sense the world around us.
Blood: The fluid that circulates in the heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins.
Bones: Hardened connective tissue. Support body structures, protect internal organs, and (in conjunction with muscles) facilitate movement; are also involved with cell formation,

Note: (3 kinds of flesh)
1.     Flesh is that part of the body through which we sense the world around us.
2.     As applied to the human body. Both psychical flesh and physical flesh.
3.     The totality of mankind. Born of flesh. Composite of Soul and Body.

Diagram 1.
Top down analogy. Always in the order Spirit àSoul à Body, according to I Thes 5:23.
It is apparent that we are identified by the attributes of our soul, our intellect, personality, sense of humor, emotions etc. It would seem that this is who we really are. God is the lover of our souls. However, our spirit is our life force and is the deepest part of our heart.
I Cor 2:11 “For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God”.
Our spirit is who we really are. This is our “inner man” Believers need to strengthen their inner man in the following ways:
1.     Internalize that the Holy Spirit is alive and dwells in your human spirit. Don’t look for a feeling to confirm this, you must believe it first. Say out loud “My spirit is perfect because the Holy Spirit is perfect!”
2.     Make more room for the Holy Spirit by decreasing the amount of your self. Fast and pray with this theme” Less of me and more of you Jesus”. Deny your self, pick up the Cross and follow Jesus.
3.     Baptism of the Holy Spirit accompanied by your heavenly prayer language.
4.     Increase the strength of our inner man by practicing the three functions of the spirit daily.
Diagram 2.
God always works on us from the inside out.
The perfect and complete order of God's operation is first to move in the human spirit, next to enlighten the mind of the soul, and finally to execute through the body.

Satan always works on us from the outside in.
1 John 2:15-16, Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Let’s look in Genesis where every thing has it’s beginning, satan tempting Eve to sin.
Satan's temptation reaches initially to the body, then to the soul and lastly to the spirit.
To begin with the tree was good for food." This is the "lust of the flesh." Eve's flesh was the first to be stirred up. Second, "it was a delight to the eyes." This is "the lust of the eyes." Both the body and her soul were now enticed. Third, "the tree was to be desired to make one wise." This is "the pride of life."

If we establish the correct order of “flow” from our spirit to soul to body, then we are receiving fuel from the Holy Spirit and satan gets the exhaust pipe.
If we cater to the whims of our selfish desires, then the flow is working in opposition to its design- leading to destruction.

FLOW OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Romans 8:11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.
We know we are saved forever because we have asked Jesus to save us, we are born again and we have a regenerated (human) spirit.
Therefore:
1)    The spirit of God, the Holy Spirit dwells in our human spirit.

2)    The Holy Spirit will give life to our mortal body by flowing from our human spirit, through (and in) our soul, to our body.

3)    Our damaged soul area can hinder or block the flow of the Holy Spirit.

4)    We prosper to the same extent that our Soul prospers – Our prosperity health is directly proportional to our soul health. III John 2, Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

5)    The condition of our soul directly affects 3 areas of our prosperity:
               i.     Physical Health & Healing
              ii.     Finances
            iii.     Relationships
SALVATION OF THE SPIRIT, SOUL, and BODY

Philippians 2:12, So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

If we are working out our salvation with fear and trembling, what part(s) are we working on?

There are three types of salvation that are unique to our spirit, unique to our soul, and unique to our body. We need to understand each type of salvation.

I Salvation of the Spirit. Justification. Romans 5:1, Romans 5:9.
Initial born again experience. Regenerated Spirit. New creature I Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17
1.     Believe in your heart. Romans 10:8-10

2.     Confess with your mouth unto salvation – receive Jesus into your heart. I John 5:11-12

3.     Result: spirit-to-spirit union. Human spirit united with Holy Spirit. I Cor. 6:17

II Salvation of the Soul. Sanctification. John 17:17, Eph. 5:26.
1)    Continual process of sanctification. (set apart) James 1:21, I Peter 1:9, Heb 9:13,
Heb 10:39, Heb 13:12, I Cor 1:18, II Cor 7:1.

2)    Renewing of mind by the Word of God. Romans 12:2.

3)    Soul prosperity. III John 2.

III Salvation of the body. Glorification
1)    Redemption of our Body. Romans 8:22-23, Phil 3:21.

2)    Changed instantly into a glorified body I Cor. 15:52, I Thes. 4:17.

What you can do every day:
Jeremiah 29:11-14, For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by you," says the LORD. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes.

1)      In prayer, ask God to show you His plan for your life.

2)      In prayer, ask God if there is anything He would have you change in your life.

I. UNFORGIVENESS

Forgiveness is all about the debt system.
When we are in debt we are unable to prosper. The debt owed always has a negative effect. Living in debt is a continual cycle, it is like digging a hole to fill in another. The new hole is always deeper that the previous one.
Our debt of sin ultimately leading to death and separation from God was paid for in full by the precious blood of Jesus. Only Jesus could pay this debt.

Relationships are restored because of forgiveness.
Before we came to Chris, our relationship with God was in a state of disconnection. Our spirit was dead. No worshipping God, no hearing from God, no discernment from God. When our spirit became regenerated, our relationship with God was restored. God is able to forgive our debt of sin because of the perfect work on the cross by Jesus. God is satisfied with us because when He When looks at us He sees Jesus. Praise Jesus!

Unforgiveness plants the seed of bitterness in our soul.
We were made from dirt and we will return to dirt. The seed of bitterness sprouts and begins to grow if we keep feeding it. Eventually it will become the root of bitterness, effecting all areas of our life; Spirit, Soul and Body.
§    Spirit: Bitterness quenches to flow of the Holy Spirit.
§    Soul: Bitterness gives satan territory.
§    Body: Poison drips into our body. Pre-Cancerous cells are formed.

Unforgiveness blocks any kind of healing.
“Forgiving others” is at the top of the list of all recovery programs.
Unforgiveness creates a barrier between our Soul and healing.
Until forgiveness is completely dealt with in partnership with Jesus Christ, we are only treating symptoms by working steps in a program, prayer, and small group support systems.

Forgiveness is an integral part of our daily lives.
James 5:16, Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
When we sin against others, we need to be quick to admit our wrongs and ask for forgiveness from that person and from God. If forgiveness is not returned from that person, do not retaliate with bitterness because of their unforgiveness. Do not start the vicious cycle of unforgiveness.  Harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping your enemy will die!
When we are sinned against, we need to forgive that person and rely on God’s perfect recompense for the debt owed. Do not hold court internally by acting as judge, juror, and executioner, repeatedly trying, convicting and sentencing that person. Rely on God’s courtroom justice. We must release our internal courtroom drama to God. This requires a partnership with Jesus.

Jesus has an active passion to release us, if we would only partnership with Him. Jesus is on the right hand of God the Father, interceding for us.

PRAY ALOUD: “In the name of Jesus I choose to forgive everyone that has sinned against me, And Father God, even though you don’t need forgiveness – I choose to forgive You for those times that I thought you let me down or where I thought You abandoned me. Most of all I choose to forgive myself.
I repent from judging anyone that has sinned against me and I ask you Jesus to forgive me and blot out my sin record with your precious blood. In Jesus name Amen!”

II. CURSES

Think of a curse as permission given for the enemy to do what the enemy does best – kill, steal, and destroy. A curse is usually activated by a person with legitimate, illegitimate, or implied authority over another person or group.

Examples of authority relationships;
a)         A father is the covering for his family – wife and all children.
b)         A mother, in turn is the covering for the children.
c)         A husband is the covering for his wife.
d)         A pastor is the covering for his sheep.

Remember that the Israelites Journey from Egypt to the promised land in the Old Testament is a snap shot of the journey we will go through, from bondage to freedom, and of the enemy that doesn’t want us to get there. It depicts the consequences of our choices along the way; to rebel against God or to follow God’s plan.

Egypt = Bondage, slavery to sin.
Moses = The Gospel of God – the way to deliverance.
Promised Land = Freedom in Christ and the Blessings of God.
Enemy = Satan, demons, and the way of the world

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So we can also learn about God’s dealings with rebellion and unrepentant sins of His “chosen people”

Let’s look at an example of God’s dealings with unrepentant sins and wickedness toward Him.

Leviticus 26: 39-42, And those of you who are left shall waste away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; also in their fathers’ iniquities, which are with them, they shall waste away. ‘But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me, and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies;
if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember; I will remember the land.

Read Also Daniel 9:1-16, Nehemiah 9:2

There is a tough job ahead for a first or second generation Christian or for those who’s parents have not dealt with the continuous iniquities of their fathers.

Our sins are compounded by our ancestors sin’s and iniquities. This can lead to a miserable journey to the promised land. But there is good news in this verse too. It shows what must be done.

We need to confess and repent on behalf of our ancestors.

Different types of curses;

1)    Curses Inherited from Adam and Eve - the fall of man.
§  Land cursed– Adam to work by the sweat of his brow – thorns etc.
§  Eve cursed with painful labor in bearing children.
§  Eve to be ruled over by Adam- no longer a partnership.
§  Hostility between all of mankind and Satan.
We overcome these curses by God’s Grace. His grace is sufficient.
They won’t go away, but we can stay ahead of them by centering ourselves in God’s perfect will for our life. John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”
If we choose to live in the worldly kingdom we will be bound by these curses. God always gives us a choice. If we choose to live by God’s kingdom dynamics we will rise above and live in the blessings that leave these curses in the dust. In Duet 28, God’s first mention is to give blessings in these very areas if we obey Him. God is Gracious.

2)     Consequences of breaking conditional covenants and rebellion against God.
A three stage process, very simply put; going from ‘hearing God’s voice and obeying’ to ‘hearing God’s voice and not obeying’ to ‘not hearing God’s voice and rebelling against God’. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Let’s choose a different three step process. Love God – Hear God – Obey God.

3)     Generational curses; Consequences from the acts of our ancestors.
i.           Habitual tendencies; drugs, alcohol, divorce etc
ii.         Sickness and disease; heart problems, diabetes, allergies, bipolar etc.
iii.        Dept and Lack; finances always suffering.
iv.        Propensity toward accidents.
v.         Disposition; rage, anger, hostility, violence.
vi.        Familial spirits; abortion, lust, addiction, self sabotage, suicide.
We overcome these curses by repenting on behalf of our ancestors, breaking the curses by the power of Jesus’ blood and by His perfect work on the cross.
Galatians 3:13, (NLT) But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."
Isaiah 53:5, “But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.”  Amen and amen.

4)     Spoken and written curses.
The main vehicle of both blessings and curses is the tongue.
James 3:5-10, Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell….

Proverbs 11:9, With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

Proverbs 12:18, There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 15:4, A soothing tongue is a tree of life, But perversion in it crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 18:21, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

a.              Words of destruction spoken over others.
Be careful of saying “ALWAYS” and “NEVER” and “YOU WILL” with “IF YOU”

WE NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT CURSING OTHERS WITH OUR TONGUE.
Examples: Parent to Child, especially Father to child. This is actually a negative prophecy.
“You will damage your eyes if you keep reading in the dark”.
“You will get sick if you eat that”
“Go ahead and do what ever you want, but don’t come crying to me when you  _________ (the consequence)
“You never will be able to do that if you don’t try”
“You always fail when you do it that way”
“You never listen to me”.

b.              Words of destruction spoken over ourselves.
WE NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT CURSING OUR SELF WITH OUR TONGUE.
Examples:
How many time have we said “your killing me” in a sarcastic and joking attitude?
Or how about “that makes me sick”
Or “I’m sick of that”, Or “I’m sick and tired of that”
Or “that makes me sick”
Or “your driving me crazy”

c.              Charismatic Witchcraft from “Christians”
WE NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT CURSING OTHERS WE PRAY FOR WITH SELFISH INTENTIONS.
(witchcraft means trying to control someone with words and schemes)
Examples:
“Lord, don’t let my best friend get promoted and move out of state, I will really miss him.” (Controlling others)
“Lord, If you would only _________this one time, I will or won’t ________” (trying to control God)

d.     Witchcraft from occults – indirect or direct followers of satan.
There are groups of people “praying” against God’s children all hours of the day. There are also people sent from these groups to infiltrate churches. They look and act like a “christian” but are there to pronounce curses over the body of Christ – be careful.

We need to think about what we are about to say, before we pronounce a negative prophesy upon someone or our self.

Note: medical problems aren’t necessarily always brought on by generational curses.

How do we deal with curses now that we understand them?
We learned from the proceeding chapters that we overcome these curses by repenting on behalf of our ancestors, breaking the curses by the power of Jesus’ blood and by His perfect work on the cross.

PRAYERS

  1. Break curses of generations due to the sins of your ancestors (both father’s and mother’s side)

PRAY ALOUD: “In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, my Lord, who redeemed us from the curse of the law, and by the shed Blood of Jesus, I break all the curses on me, on my family members, and on my ancestors, including my fathers side ___name of the family name____, and mother’s side ____name______, and my spouse’s father and mother _____name the family names____ going back ten generations.”

  1. Repent on behalf of your ancestors (as Daniel 9:5-9) and remit them (as Jesus said in John 20:23)

PRAY ALOUD: “I repent, my heavenly Father, on behalf of my ancestors (in the manor of Daniel 9:5-9). I ask you Father to forgive us of sins of commission, and sins of omission; all our transgressions and iniquities, our rebellion, pride, disobedience and idolatry. III. INNER VOWS AND JUDGEMENTS

Outer Vows and Judgments & Inner Vows and Judgments.

Think of an ‘outer’ vow as a promise or oath made to God,
Ecclesiastes 5:4-7, So when you make a promise to God, don't delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to Him. It is better to say nothing than to promise something that you don't follow through on. In such cases, your mouth is making you sin. And don't defend yourself by telling the Temple messenger that the promise you made was a mistake. That would make God angry, and He might wipe out everything you have achieved

…Or made to people in front of God.
Mathew 5:33-37, Again, you have heard that the law of Moses says, `Do not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you have made to the Lord. 'But I say, don't make any vows! If you say, `By heaven!' it is a sacred v ow because heaven is God's throne. And if you say, `By the earth!' it is a sacred vow because the earth is His footstool. And don't swear, `By Jerusalem!' for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. Don't even swear, `By my head!' for you can't turn one hair white or black. Just say a simple, `Yes, I will,' or `No, I won't.' Your word is enough. To strengthen your promise with a vow shows that something is wrong.

Think of an ‘outer’ judgment as a statement about others concerning their actions or attitudes.
Luke 6:37, Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.
Romans 14:4, Who are you to condemn God's servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him tell them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord's power will help them do as they should.
James 4:11-12, Don't speak evil against each other, my dear brothers and sisters. If you criticize each other and condemn each other, then you are criticizing and condemning God's law. But you are not a judge who can decide whether the law is right or wrong. Your job is to obey it. God alone, who made the law, can rightly judge among us. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to condemn your neighbor?

Think of an ‘Inner Vow’ as making a promise to ourself with an equal measure of emotions warranted by a particular emotional or traumatic situation or event. An ‘inner vow’ is a highly emotional internal reply to a highly emotional event that we have made during our childhood. If we haven’t grown up and have a ‘stuck child’ inside, then we will continue to make childhood ‘inner vows’ throughout our adult years. Our ‘Inner Vows’ operate like a magnet, attracting the very things that we are trying to escape...  but tragically ALWAYS manage to find.

Think of an ‘Inner Judgment’ as making a statement to ourself with an equal measure of emotions warranted by a particular offensive situation or event concerning a person’s actions relating to ME. An ‘inner judgment’ is a highly emotional internal statement we have made about ourself or someone else during our childhood. If we haven’t grown up and have a ‘stuck child’ inside, then we will continue to make childhood ‘inner judgments’ throughout our adult years.

HOW DO INNER VOWS AND JUDGMENTS EFFECT US?

1)    They build walls that obstruct the flow of the Holy Spirit.
John 7:38-39, Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive.

2)    They build walls of false security that prevent us from trusting God and others.
1 Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
We build our own walls and try to stand up under them instead of the way God has provided. We trust our structure, not God’s.

3)    They challenge the enemy to prove you wrong.
John 7:51, Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?"
Revelation 12:10, Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, "It has happened at last--the salvation and power and kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ! For the Accuser has been thrown down to earth--the one who accused our brothers and sisters before our God day and night.

4)    They are covenants with death, a false refuge.
Isaiah 28:15, You boast, "We have entered into a covenant with death, with the grave we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place."

As a child we may have made inner vows and judgments that were a natural part of our “self defense mechanism’ These areas of protection were designed by God, but are only meant to be there until healing comes. Unfortunately healing doesn’t come for a lot of adults. When we make inner vows and judgments as adult Christians (with a stuck child) we deny Jesus’ perfect work on the cross and put ourself back under the law of sin and death.

1 Corinthians 13:11, When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

2 Corinthians 3:6, He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Romans 8:1, Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

Proverbs 23:7, For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, "Eat and drink!" But his heart is not with you.

HOW DO WE DEAL WITH INNER VOWS AND JUDGMENTS?

We need to cancel inner vows and judgments of revenge, fear, inferiority, failure, and poverty etc. Where appropriate we need to remit, repent and ask God to forgive us, especially inner vows and judgments made as adults. Let’s look at some typical examples of inner vows and judgments we may have made as a child and also as an adult.
(Thanks to Dr. Terry Haugh for these examples)

Inner Vows;
(Put this sentence in front of suspect inner vows – I hereby make this solemn vow/promise that….)

I’ll NEVER be like my Father.
I’ll NEVER be like my Mother
I’ll NEVER marry anyone like my Father or Mother
I’ll ALWAYS be alone.
I’ll ALWAYS be afraid.
I’ll ALWAYS be disappointed.

‘I don’t Need you’
‘I don’t need anyone’
‘I don’t care’…
‘I‘ll never trust you again… trust anyone again’
‘I can’t see this’…
‘I’ll never ‘ ____________
‘It doesn’t matter, nobody cares..…’

Inner Judgments;
(Put this sentence in front of suspect inner judgments – I hereby declare that….)

‘I ‘m just not good enough’
‘There must be something wrong with me’
‘No one will ever ______ love me……care about me’
‘Its no use’… ‘It’s all my fault’
‘I ‘m so _________ (Stupid, Dumb, Clumsy) ‘
‘Nobody wants me… likes me….’
PRAYERS

PRAY ALOUD:  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I cancel and nullify all inner vows and judgments I have thought to myself or have said out loud that are contrary to Your will and have brought harm to myself and others. I ask forgiveness for, and renounce all negative inner vows that I have made with the enemy, and ask you Jesus Christ to release me from these vows and from any bondage they may have held in me.

I also renounce and let go of my anger, resentment, any desire to get even, fear, anxiety, jealousy, and envy, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Thank you for healing me and delivering me from all rejection, unloved, excluded, neglect, bitterness, hurt, betrayal, self-rejection, and fear of rejection through the name and blood of Jesus. I am in covenant with You Lord to love, fear, & worship You alone, and to remain free!!!

By a decision of my will, I freely forgive all who have ever harmed or wronged me. I forgive all others as I want You to forgive me. Lord Jesus Christ, I believe You died on the Cross for my sins and rose again from the dead. You redeemed me by Your blood and I belong to You. I choose to forgive everyone who has not loved me the way Jesus loves me, especially I forgive my earthly parents, as there are no perfect parents. I receive Your forgiveness and I forgive myself, in Jesus’ Precious Name.

I ask You Father God, in the name of Your precious Son to disintegrate and loose the false walls I have built that hinder the flow of the Holy Spirit and Your Blessings. I claim the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, over every aspect of my life for my protection. I thank you Father God for tearing down my counterfeit armor and for Your promise to Abram to be his shield as I claim all the promises You have made to those who choose to follow You. I choose to put on the full armor of God in its place and to trust You only. I also ask You Father God to cover me with Your armor of light.

I pray all these things in the precious name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In Jesus name, amen!

IV. SOUL TIES
What is a Soul Tie?

A simple explanation of a soul tie is a spiritual or more precise term of what the world may refer to as “bonding” with someone in a relationship. There are healthy soul ties and unhealthy soul ties. Believers and non-believers alike are subject to both types.

Two people developing a close relationship where they are free and safe to talk about personal issues and day to day life. The brother or sister you always wish you had, and they are filling that spot.

As followers of Jesus Christ, and specifically dealing with eradicating spiritual baggage - we are primarily concerned with “Godly Soul Ties” and “Ungodly Soul Ties”.

GODLY AND UNGODLY SOUL TIES

Soul ties are generally established through the affection area of the soul – love or hate.

Let’s look at a few examples. (by Dr. Mario Procopio)

Godly Soul Ties:

§  Soul tie with God

§  Soul tie with a spouse (Matt 19:5-6)

§  Soul tie with a family member (Ruth 1:16-17)

§  Soul tie with the family of God in your local church (2 Cor 6:11-12)

§  Soul tie with a best friend (1 Sam 18:3)

§  Soul tie with a mentor (Phil 2:22)

§  Soul tie with a business partner (Acts 2:44-47)

  • Soul tie with a person you assist and / or show kindness to
    (1 Chron 12:16-17a, Luke 10:33-34)

Ungodly Soul Ties
  • Sexual ties (Prov 5:22)
  • Control - witchcraft ties - intimidation/guilt. (Ps 119:134)
  • Control - from authority, (legitimate and illegitimate authority) (Esth 1:22b, 1 Cor 7:23)
  • Ungodly tie with occult ties/idolatry (Deut 13:6a-8, II Kings 3:3)
  • Ungodly tie with similar or identical sins (1 Cor 15:33, Job 36:8-9)
  • Ungodly tie with spirits or the spiritual realm through unsanctioned covenants and inner-vows (Lev. 20:6, 2 Kings 23:24a, Lev 19:31)
  • Ungodly ties with those we have not forgiven, resent, hate or have attempted revenge on. (Acts 8:22-23, 1 Sam 30:5-6)
  • Ungodly ties due to the fear of man. (Prov 29:25, Isa 8:12b-14a)

GODLY SOUL TIES

1)    Godly soul ties with others are beneficial as long as we first love God with all our Soul, Heart, Strength and Mind. Our first and foremost Godly soul tie should be with God.
(Luke 10:27) (Hosea 11:4)

2)    Godly soul ties with others should be established by the fruits of the spirit. We need to love others with Gods’ love pouring out of us, not through our own definition of love. (Galatians 5:22-23,Ephesians 2:8,9).

3)    Married individuals should not seek deep relationships (out side of their own marriage) with the opposite sex. Don’t substitute your relationship with your spouse with another person. (James 1:14-15)

UNGODLY SOUL TIES – WHEN THINGS GO WRONG

Good, healthy “normal” relationships can turn sour when sin enters the scene. Selfishness, manipulation, hatred, and revenge can contaminate the very cords that bind us together. When this happens - the third strand is withdrawn from what was a perfect system. Satan can now take what was meant for good and corrupt it with evil. The tainted cords become pathways into our soul - leaving ourselves open to demonic attack. In very abrupt or violent separations, some of the cords tear the soul leaving splintered and damaged areas - giving demons the opportunity to gain territory. We can be the executor and/or the recipient of ungodly soul ties. All ungodly soul ties need to be severed with the power of the blood of Jesus. If we were the cause, we need to remit, repent, and forgive.
  • Lev 20:26 “And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.”
  • Ps 129:4, The LORD is righteous; He has cut in two the cords of the wicked.

Let’s look at a few key words to determine if there has been an ungodly soul ties established between you and another person.

CONTROL
IMPRISONMENT
HATE
OPPRESSION
INTIMIDATION
GUILT
JEALOUSY
LUST
UNGODLY SOUL TIES AND DELIVERANCE
Dealing properly with ungodly soul ties is a critical part of successful deliverance. By severing the cords and receiving healing made possible by Jesus’ perfect work on the cross, we eliminate the root cause for demonic influence and attack.
Jesus wants His church to be without spot or blemish. As we work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12b&13.), we are co-laboring with Jesus to remove the dark spots and blemishes in our soul, caused by satan. Evil can only exist in darkness. God is light and in Him is no darkness.(1 John 1:5)

PORNOGRAPHY AND VISUAL FANTASIES
Prov 5:22, “His own iniquities will capture the wicked, and he will be held with the cords of his sin.”
An ungodly soul tie is established every time a person acts out in self gratification while lusting over a visual representation of another person. This includes pictures in magazines, movies, and conjuring visual images in the mind (usually a replay of something already seen). This kind of ungodly soul tie is an abomination from the beginning and immediately leads to demonic attack to that person and anyone under their authority. It also leads to complete numbness and inability to deal with reality.

UNGODLY SOUL TIE BETWEEN OUR OWN SPIRIT AND SOUL
If the Holy Spirit resides in our human spirit and the soul is the seat of our emotions, then there is a relationship between the two established by our will.
In cases of continual unrepentant sin or heavy involvement in the occult, an ungodly soul tie can be established between a persons Spirit and Soul. This can be a major cause that blocks the flow of the Holy Spirit. We need to repent, ask God for forgiveness, ask Jesus – our high priest- to cleave the ungodly connection, and ask the Holy Spirit to re-establish a Godly Soul Tie between our spirit and soul.

STEPS TO BE FREED FROM THE IMPRISONMENT OF UNGODLY SOUL TIES
(by Dr. Mario Procopio)

1)    Use the blood of Jesus to sever soul ties.

2)    Use the laying on of hands.

3)    Break covenants not blessed by God and replace them with blessed covenants.

4)    Get release from all debts to people by faith in Christ.

5)    Forgive unconditionally

6)    Apologize, confess, and repent to any body you are presently wronging.

7)    Cancel all inner vows and judgments of revenge, fear, inferiority, and failure, etc.

8)    Call back the scattered and stolen parts of your soul.

9)    Replace ungodly soul ties with Christ Jesus

PRAYER FOR RELEASE

LORD I FORGIVE EVERYONE WHO HAS EVER CONTROLLED ME, AND I ASK YOU TO FORGIVE ME, FOR BEING CONTROLLING AS WELL. YOUR WORD COMMANDS ME TO AVOID THE FEAR OF MEN AND TO NOT BE THE SLAVES OF MEN. THEREFORE I TAKE THE BLOOD OF JESUS AND BREAK EVERY UNGODLY SOUL TIE OF CONTROL BETWEEN ME AND MY PARENTS, SPOUSE, CHILDREN, FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, ENEMIES, EMPLOYERS, PEOPLE AND/OR ORGANIZATIONS I AM IN DEBT TO, CHURCH FAMILY, PASTORS, PEOPLE IN AUTHORITY, AND ALL PEOPLE IN GENERAL.

IN THE NAME OF JESUS I RESIST ALL CONTROL AND I COMMAND ANY & ALL CURSES AND DEMONS OF CONTROL, WITCHCRAFT, JEZEBEL, AHAB, SEXUAL LUST, PASSIVITY, DEATH, DEPRESSION, FEAR, INSECURITY, GUILT, FALSE RESPONSIBILITY, AND CONFUSION
TO GET OUT OF MY SOUL, AND TO NEVER RETURN.

I AM IN COVENANT WITH YOU LORD TO LOVE, FEAR, & WORSHIP YOU ALONE, AND TO REMAIN FREE!!!

IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!
